Climate

The climate towards the northern end of the west coast is an oceanic climate. This means that it has cool summers and cool to cold winters. The southern end of the west coast has a Mediterranean climate. This means that it has dry and hot summers and wet and mild winters. Since the west coast stretches over so much land, the climate varies throughout the region. In Southern California, the summers are brutal, whereas in Washington the summers are cool and mild, and in Oregon, you can find the in-between.

Economic Focus

The West Coast’s economy is mostly based on agriculture. California produces more agricultural goods than any other state in the USA. The main items being grown are asparagus, grapes, lettuce, oranges, rice, shelled almonds, tomatoes, and milk and cream.

Economy

The West Coast’s economy is the biggest in the entire United States. Come of the major reasons for that are agriculture, tourism, and forestry. California produces more agricultural products than any other state in the USA. It is no surprise that the West Coast is such a popular place for tourism, from its beautiful beaches, thriving cities, and sprawling forests. Which brings us to the third reason forestry. Forests cover more than 45% of all the land in California. The trees in the white mountains are some of the oldest trees in the world. All of these natural advantages are what makes the West Coast such a profitable place.
